Refreshed my website, and now using Twitter
I was stuck at home today waiting on contractors to come and fix some of the issues with my home before the 2-year warranty was up, so I decided to do a little work to my website. I just moved some things around a bit and added a Twitter widget.
What's Twitter? Well, it's something I thought I'd never use, but I finally got sick and tired of hearing people talking about it on all the tech podcasts that I listen to, so I decided to give it a try. According to the Twitter FAQ, it is "a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?"
Basically, it's a way to inform people of something you want to share, 140 characters at a time. You can post things to Twitter via the Twitter website, mobile phone text messaging, instant messaging clients, etc. Conversely, you can choose to "follow" other people to see what they're up to. (Right now, I'm following the people I like to listen to or watch on tech podcasts.)
So, if you want to sign up for Twitter to follow what I'm doing, or to let me know what you're doing, then head on over to Twitter.com.
